White-paper programme

From research questions to useful public knowledge.

A white paper should synthesize evidence around a defined question, examine competing interpretations and make its limitations explicit. This programme provides an editorial framework for future commissioned work—not a catalogue of reports already issued.

Publication status

No Academy white paper or original research report is presented as published in this collection. Documents will be listed only after authorship, review, approval and a final accessible edition are available.

A publication is a record that others can examine.

Attribution before authority

Identify the original authors and institutions, distinguish editorial interpretation from reported findings, and link to the primary record. A summary is not an endorsement or a claim of participation.

Evidence, methods and limits

Report the research design, the scale of the evidence and the uncertainty that remains. Avoid presenting association as causation, a preprint as settled consensus, or a model prediction as an experimentally verified fact.

Independent review and disclosure

Future Academy reports require named authors, a declared review process, funding and interest disclosures, version dates, correction procedures and a distinction between personal interpretation and institutional positions.
